The rehabilitation professionals in all programmes (paediatric, geriatric, orthopaedic, neurological, cancer, and others) and levels of care use the Kinesio Taping Method as a therapeutic tool (acute care, inpatient rehabilitation,outpatient, home care and Day Rehab). Dr. Kenzo Kase was the first to propose the notion of utilising elastic tape to resemble the therapist's hands in the 1970s. Since then, it has become the modality utilised for treating oedema, soft tissue injuries, tissues that are out of alignment, and pain management. The Kinesio Taping Method uses four different kinds of Kinesio Tex Tapes, each of which has unique qualities made for use on skin that is delicate, sensitive, or applied with more strain. Two unique tapes, Kinesio Equine and Kinesio Canine, are utilised in the Kinesio Taping Method, which has also been proven helpful in treating animals. Kinesio Tex Tape contains either 100% cotton and elastic fibres or it can be a blend of polyester and cotton with elastic fibres.
